The Pollination Project Foundation Partnership

CTY-Africa Partners with the Pollination Project Foundation to Launch School Kitchen Gardens Project in Mayuge

We are happy to announce a new partnership between Comrades to Youths Africa (CTY-Africa) and the Pollination Project Foundation to implement a School Kitchen Gardens Project at our E-Shule pilot school, Mayuge Hill Secondary School.

This support from the Pollination Project Foundation marks a significant milestone in our journey to promote student-led sustainability, nutrition, and environmental education in Uganda’s underserved schools.

About the Project

The School Kitchen Gardens Project is a core component of our E-Shule initiative, a bold effort to turn schools into green, innovative learning hubs where students can explore climate-conscious solutions through hands-on activities.

With the support of the Pollination, we will:

  • Establish a functional vegetable garden at Mayuge Hill Secondary School,
  • Conduct engaging awareness sessions on plant-based nutrition, and
  • Equip students with the knowledge and skills to grow their own food both at school and at home.

This initiative directly addresses issues of nutrition, food security, and climate resilience, while empowering young people with practical skills and leadership opportunities.

💬 A Word from Our Team

“This partnership is a major step toward rethinking what school should look like not just as a place of learning, but as a center of sustainability and innovation. We’re grateful to the Pollination Project Foundation for believing in the power of youth and school communities.”
— Pius Isabirye, Founder & Team Lead, CTY-Africa

Why This Matters

In communities like Mayuge, food insecurity and poor nutrition hinder student performance and long-term well-being. At the same time, climate change is making traditional food systems less reliable.

By growing gardens on school grounds and promoting plant-based diets, we not only improve students’ health but also build a generation of young environmental stewards who can lead their communities in sustainable living.

Thank You to the Pollination Grants Foundation

We thank the Pollination Project Foundation for their generous support and belief in grassroots action. Together, we’re proving that small seeds can grow big change in classrooms, in communities, and across the country.
